By accessing or using The Sleep Society website, directory, or related services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

  1. Nature of the Platform

The Sleep Society is a global, multidisciplinary platform designed to support education, awareness, visibility, and professional connection across the field of sleep.

The Platform provides general information and a directory of independent professionals. It does not provide healthcare, dental, or legal services.

  1. No Professional Advice

All content on the Platform is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing on this Platform constitutes medical, dental, or legal advice, nor does it create a clinician–patient, provider–patient, or professional relationship.

Users must seek independent professional advice appropriate to their individual circumstances and jurisdiction.

  1. Directory and Members

The Sleep Society Directory is a visibility and connection platform.

  • Members are independent practitioners operating within their own regulatory environments
  • Inclusion in the Directory does not constitute endorsement, recommendation, or verification of qualifications, licensing, or services
  • The Sleep Society does not verify credentials unless explicitly stated

Users are solely responsible for independently confirming the qualifications, licensing, and suitability of any listed professional.

  1. No Agency or Partnership

Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between The Sleep Society and any member, user, or third party.

  1. Referrals and Interactions

The Platform facilitates awareness and connection only.

The Sleep Society:

  • Does not provide or guarantee referrals
  • Does not assess suitability of professionals
  • Does not guarantee outcomes of any interaction

All professional relationships are formed directly between users and providers.

  1. Membership and Fees

Membership may include directory listing and access to certain resources.

  • Fees are $9.99 USD monthly or $99 USD annually unless otherwise stated
  • Membership does not guarantee referrals, visibility, or financial return
  • Fees are non refundable except where required by law

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with applicable terms.

  1. Payment Processing

Payments are processed through third party providers such as Stripe or PayPal.

The Sleep Society:

  • Does not store or control payment card information
  • Is not responsible for payment processing errors, delays, or security breaches involving third party providers

Users agree to comply with the terms of those providers.

  1. User and Member Responsibilities

Users and members agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Comply with all applicable laws and professional regulations
  • Ensure that all listings and representations are not false, misleading, or unsubstantiated

Members are solely responsible for the content of their listings and any services they provide.

  1. Prohibited Use

Users must not:

  • Engage in fraud, impersonation, or misrepresentation
  • Harvest or scrape data from the Platform
  • Use the Platform for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Platform

The Sleep Society reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for violations.

  1. Regulatory Compliance

The Platform operates globally, but users and members are responsible for complying with all local laws, licensing requirements, advertising standards, and professional regulations in their respective jurisdictions.

The Sleep Society makes no representation that the Platform complies with laws outside British Columbia, Canada.

  1. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including text, branding, and design, is the property of The Sleep Society unless otherwise stated.

No content may be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written permission.

Members grant The Sleep Society a limited license to display and use submitted content for Platform purposes.

  1. Privacy and Data Use

The Sleep Society collects and uses personal and professional information for purposes including:

  • Directory listings
  • Communication
  • Platform improvement and analytics

While reasonable measures are taken to protect data, no system is completely secure.

Data may be stored or processed in different jurisdictions.

  1. Platform Availability

The Sleep Society does not guarantee uninterrupted or error free access to the Platform.

The Platform may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.

  1. Security and Cyber Risk

The Sleep Society is not responsible for:

  • Cyber attacks, hacking, phishing, or impersonation
  • Loss or misuse of data arising from such events

Users are responsible for safeguarding their own credentials and information.

The Sleep Society is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Sleep Society shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:

  • Reliance on any information provided
  • Interactions between users and members
  • Services provided by listed professionals
  1. Indemnification

Users and members agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Sleep Society, its directors, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Their use of the Platform
  • Their professional services or conduct
  • Any breach of these Terms
  1. Insurance Disclaimer

The Sleep Society does not provide or verify professional liability insurance for members.

Members are solely responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage.

  1. Modifications to Terms

The Sleep Society reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
